Beechdean AMR confirm 2019 calendar today with the addition of a full championship campaign in Michelin Le Mans Cup alongside Britis
h GT efforts. Team principal boss Andrew Howard will be joined by Aston Martin Racing junior works driver Ross Gunn in the Michelin Le Mans Cup series, and factory driver Marco Sorensen for British GT.
The team will compete in all six stages of the competition, which combined with the extensive British GT calendar, makes an incredible 13 stage racing calendar for Beechdean AMR in 2019.
The championship, which boasted an impressive 29 participants in 2018, runs in tandem with the European Le Mans Series comprising of 6 stages across Europe with the flagship round the “Road to Le Mans” consisting of two 55-minute races, the second in front of thousands of fans just a few hours before the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The winner of the GT3 class in the series receives an invite to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GTE AM Category for the following year.
Along with the exciting prospect of 2 major competitions, Beechdean AMR will enter the 2019 Season with a brand-new look as displayed at their 2019 launch party at Aston Martin Racing this evening. After a strong performance at the end of 2018 from the team in their debut with the new Vantage GT3 at the Gulf 12 Hour race, Beechdean AMR will be looking for a successful dual competition season in 2019.
The Beechdean AMR name and colours are synonymous with both the SRO’s British GT Championship and ACOs championships, team principal Andrew Howard was delighted to unveil that they will be doing this dual competition in a new-for-2019 livery; “it’s an exciting time for Beechdean to be racing the new Vantage GT3 having been one of the only teams to switch from DBRS9 GT3 to the previous Vantage. The calendar looks great with some of the most iconic circuits on the world, and I’m looking forward to racing with Marco and Ross and collecting some trophies along the way.”
